Get rid of unwanted household items at the upcoming Washtenaw County Cleanup Days

WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. – Do you keep objects that you want to get rid of but you don’t know how?

Washtenaw County Cleanup Days are designed for residents to safely dispose of unwanted appliances, bulky trash, tires, household hazardous waste and more.

how they work

Each event has its own flyer with start time and arrival instructions. Items that can be donated also vary by event.

Volunteers will direct cars and help unload items.

Attendees should expect long wait times and a $15 donation is encouraged.

Generally Accepted Items:

  • Appliances (some events accept appliances containing Freon – check flyers to confirm)

  • Bulky Waste (mattresses, furniture, wood scraps, etc. – bulky items are not accepted during Clean-Up Day in Chelsea)
  • Electronic (televisions, computers, audio and video equipment, etc.)
  • Scrap

  • Tires (limit of 10 tires, agricultural tires are not accepted)

2022 Cleanup Day Schedule:

  • June 25: Township of Northfield – Whitmore Lake High School

  • July 23: Augusta Township – Lincoln High School

  • July 30: Saline – Saline high school

  • August 27: Ypsilanti – Eastern Michigan University
