The Leesiders will have the chance to get rid of their unwanted devices over the next few days.

And even better, you can declutter your home of all unused electrical appliances, absolutely free!

Cork County Council will be holding free public WEEE recycling collection events from 5-14 April across Cork. All household items with a plug or battery will be accepted free of charge, including old washing machines, televisions, toasters and kettles, electronic tools and toys, cables, computer equipment, cell phones, remote controls and even watches.

Households are now being asked to collect all electrical and electronic waste from their homes and bring it to recycling events, which can be viewed below.

Collection schedule in Cork

A large number of Irish people are now choosing to recycle their old devices as environmental awareness increases.

According to a recent survey by Currys PC World, 95% of us think it’s important to recycle our old appliances and electronics.

Kinsale, Mallow, Buttevant, Newmarket, Coachford and the West Cork areas of Drimoleague and Bantry will all hold collections over the next week.

Be sure to check the Cork County Council Environment Department Facebook page for a full list of accepted items.
