Drop off household hazardous materials on December 4


BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Residents of East Baton Rouge can drop off all hazardous materials during Household Hazardous Materials Collection Day on Saturday, Dec. 4.

Drop-off will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at LSU’s Touchdown Village parking lot on S. Quad Drive. Residents dropping off gear are asked to enter the event on S. Quad Drive from Nicholson Drive or Highland Road and look for the entrance next to Patrick F. Taylor Hall.

Materials that will be accepted:

  • Acids
  • Aerosol cans
  • Arsenic
  • Automotive products including: waste oil, antifreeze, brake fluid, diesel, oil and fuel filters, gasoline and gasoline and oil blends
  • Automobile tires (limit of five per capita)
  • Batteries including NiCD, lead-acid, alkaline and rechargeable
  • Bleach, bowl cleaners
  • Insect repellent sprays
  • Cleaning solvents
  • Corrosive cleaners
  • Cooking oil
  • Degreasers
  • Disinfectants
  • Unblockers
  • Electronic equipment, including ink cartridges, photocopiers, cell phones, fax machines and computers
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Fluorescent tubes
  • Glue
  • Glycerol, glycerin
  • Lawn and garden products, including pesticides, herbicides, fungicides and fertilizers
